1. School Manager

Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: $28/hr

Main Duties:

  • Plan, organize and manage the daily operations of the company
  • Supervise and evaluate instructors’ performances in different programs (IELTS, SAT, Math, Chemistry, Biology and History)
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for course instructors and other administrative staffs
  • Create, coordinate and oversee the scheduling of classes to meet student needs, balance quality and cost-effectiveness;
  • Manage contracts for advertising or marketing strategies
  • Work with HR department to recruit teachers to meet school’s needs
  • Work with Marketing department and sales team to develop growth strategies and set sales goals
  • Maintain financial control of the budget and resources of the branch
  • Ensure the highest levels of client service and satisfaction and solve complaints
  • Conduct assessments of each staff member quarterly
  • Monitor expenditures across the academic year
  • Hire and train lower-level administrative staff
  • Attend and participate in meetings to develop courses plan for the schoolyear

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Minimum College Degree in Education or Business AND
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a managerial position in office settings OR
  • Minimum College Degree in other majors AND
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a managerial position in office settings
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field

Other Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in sales and/or marketing preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong financial skills, experience of managing a budget, forecasting and reporting on expenditure

  • Familiarity with BC High School curriculum and post-secondary institution application procedures would be an asset

2. Math & Science Tutor; English & Language Tutor

Wage: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Location: #203-1990 152 Street, Surrey, BC V4A 4N6
Language of work: English

Main Duties:

  • Work with students to improve their understanding in two or more secondary school subjects
  • Research, prepare and organize educational materials on subject matters to be covered in tutoring sessions
  • Identify students' individual learning habits and prepare lesson plans accordingly
  • Work with the students to identify their needs, set learning objectives and study plans
  • Assess students’ progress and adjust teaching plans accordingly to ensure learning outcomes
  • Communicate with parents and keep them informed of students’ progress and areas to be improved
  • Provide guidance and advice to students on school assignments and projects
  • Assign and correct homework
  • Administer and grade quizzes and tests
  • Evaluate students' progress and prepare periodic learning reports to students and their parents, and management
  • Communicate with Office Manager about students’ needs and progress, and advice on frequency of classes

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-year college degree in related subjects; must show coursework related to teachable subjects
  • Physical presence in school for classes is mandatory
  • North American Post-Secondary education background preferred
  • One year tutoring experience is preferred
  • Educational background related to two or more subjects is preferred
  • Ability to teach three or more subjects is a great asset
  • Able to teach in the afternoon, early evenings and weekends
  • Passion for teaching, able to inspire and motivate students

3. Administrative Assistant

Wage: $18.00 - 22.00 per hour
Location: #203-1990 152 Street, Surrey, BC V4A 4N6
Language of work: English

Main Duties:

  • Greet students and parents; answer phone calls from potential and existing customers, and answer general enquiries
  • Liaise between students, teachers and parents, communicate progress, address needs and recommend solutions
  • Checked incoming emails and mails, respond to them or redistribute them to appropriate staff
  • Determine and establish office procedures
  • Record student and teacher attendance; reconcile student balance statements
  • Schedule meetings for clients and managers
  • Manage students’ and teachers’ class schedules, adjust schedules throughout the week based on students’ or teacher’s needs
  • Check office inventory and order supplies as needed
  • File staff’s working hours biweekly and send it to the manager
  • Introduce company’s services to clients and take charge of the monthly turnover of the branch
  • Collect clients’ payments, issue invoices and receipts; handle other daily transactions
  • Collect, organize and file clients’ information by using MS office system
  • Assist the marketing department in promoting activities, preparing brochures and publications, and writing articles for advertising purposes
  • Cooperate with colleagues from other departments to help students with their university applications
  • Supervise and train junior staff in company policies, office procedures and use of computer systems
  • Organize and promote conferences

Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum two-year college degree with 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant or;
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree with 1 years of experience as an administrative assistant
  • Approachable with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Post-Secondary education in North America, education background in business or education will be a strong asset
  • Excellent ability to pay attention to detail and enter data accurately
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently;
  • Intermediate level in the use of standard computer applications including word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), presentation (PowerPoint), and email.
